The investigation ultimately led to the seizure of approximately $2.1 million in illegal drugs and currency.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, May 29th, at approximately 1:00 PM, Ventura County Probation Agency Deputy Probation Officer coordinated with the Simi Valley Police Department to contact probationer Jason Klausmeyer, 45, of San Clemente. Klausmeyer had arrived in the 3800 block of Alamo Street for a scheduled probation appointment, driven by April Baird, 39, also of San Clemente.<\/p>\n<p>As part of Klausmeyer\u2019s probation terms, officers conducted a search of the vehicle registered to him. During this search, officers located approximately two kilograms of ketamine and $8,000 in U.S. currency. Both Klausmeyer and Baird were immediately arrested for possession and transportation of ketamine for sales.<\/p>\n<p>The discovery by DPO and the PROS Officer triggered a broader investigation. Detectives from the Simi Valley Police Department\u2019s Special Investigations Unit responded and authored a search warrant for the suspects\u2019 San Clemente residence and associated storage units. That evening, detectives\u2014supported by partner agencies\u2014executed the warrant and seized:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>85,000 counterfeit Adderall pills (methamphetamine)<\/li>\n<li>25,000 Ecstasy pills (MDMA)<\/li>\n<li>30 pounds of ketamine<\/li>\n<li>1 pound of fentanyl<\/li>\n<li>7 pounds of cocaine<\/li>\n<li>10 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms<\/li>\n<li>$13,505 in U.S. currency<\/li>\n<li>$13,750 in gold and silver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preliminary findings indicate the suspects were involved in manufacturing illicit drugs at their residence and distributing large quantities throughout Southern California.<\/p>\n<p>Both suspects were booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for violations of 11351 H&amp;S, 11378 H&amp;S, 11379 H&amp;S, 11379.2 H&amp;S, and 182 PC.<\/p>\n<p>This case underscores the critical role probation officers play in community safety. DPO\u2019s vigilance, field expertise, and proactive decision\u2011making were the catalyst for uncovering a major narcotics pipeline.
