This must be obtained from the county where the individual was born.<\/p><p>\u201cWe\u2019ve seen an increase in requests for birth certificates lately,\u201d said Clerk-Recorder Ascencion. \u201cAnyone born in Ventura County\u2014or their parent, sibling, child, grandchild, or spouse\u2014can order a certified copy in person by appointment, by mail, or online through VitalChek.\u201d<\/p><p>For in-person appointments, a valid photo ID is required. Mail-in applications must be notarized.
