The notices inform owners of their property\u2019s assessed value as of January 1, 2024.<\/p><p>Of the 250,000 notices mailed out, approximately 207,000 are postcard notices showing the 2% increase in value in accordance with Proposition 13. Additionally, just over 6,000 notices will notify owners if their property\u2019s Market Value is less than the Prop 13 (Base Year) Value.<\/p><p>Annually, the Assessor\u2019s Office handles over 30,000 calls and is ready and available to answer questions pertaining to the assessed value. Property owners who may have questions about the annual value notice they receive are encouraged to contact Assessor staff at (805) 654-2181 or visit <a href=\"https:\/\/assessor.venturacounty.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">assessor.venturacounty.gov<\/a>.<\/p><p>Property owners who do not agree with their assessed value need to complete an Assessment Appeal Application, which is filed with the Clerk of the Assessment Appeals Board by September 16, 2024.
