This event will provide the public with an opportunity to meet the County\u2019s Building and Safety team, learn about the different trades involved in construction, and get more information about current job openings.<\/p><p>\u201cBuilding Safety Month is a critical platform for promoting measures to safeguard lives and property from preventable disasters caused by inadequate construction practices,\u201d stated Jason De La Torre, one of the District Managers for the Building &amp; Safety Division and current president of the International Code Council\u2019s Ventura Region Chapter. \u201cWith a commitment to fostering a culture of safety across the construction industry, Ventura County is honored to join hands with the ICC to champion this vital cause.\u201d<\/p><p>This year\u2019s campaign addresses how building safety impacts everyone on a personal, local, and global level. In addition to the open house, the community is welcome to stop by Building &amp; Safety\u2019s public counter each week to learn more. The themes for each week are the following:<\/p><ul><li>Week One (May 1-4): Understanding the Mission<\/li><li>Week Two (May 5-11): Preparing a Building Safety Plan<\/li><li>Week Three (May 12-18): Learning from the Pros<\/li><li>Week Four (May 19-25): Engaging Your Community<\/li><li>Week Five (May 26-31): Celebrating Success in Building Safety<\/li><\/ul><p>Building Safety Month is a worldwide campaign presented by the ICC, its members, and partners to promote building safety. This year\u2019s campaign, \u201cMission Possible,\u201d encourages people to get involved in all aspects of building safety.
