VENTURA, Calif. –The County of Ventura has been recognized with a 2025 Information Technology Excellence Award by Info-Tech Research Group, a national organization that highlights advancements in information technology governance, operations and service delivery across the public and private sectors.
The IT Excellence Award is based on results from the IT Management and Governance Diagnostic, a performance assessment used by organizations to evaluate and improve IT processes. To qualify, organizations must show measurable improvement across 50 key IT functions and demonstrate alignment between technology efforts and broader organizational goals. The County of Ventura’s continued improvements and strong year-over-year results earned it a place among this year’s honorees.
“I want to thank Info-Tech for this recognition for our IT organization’s work at the County,” shared Terry Theobald, Chief Information Officer. “In 2023, IT Services moved to focus more on rapidly involving technologies. Since then, we have implemented a future leaning governance model, adopted an AI driven training approach for IT staff, and have a strategic plan focused on technology leadership, innovation, and delivering value to the County’s constituents.”
Over the past several years, the County’s Information Technology Services Department has invested in modernizing critical systems, expanding secure digital tools for County agencies and supporting departments with more efficient, user-friendly technology. These improvements have strengthened service delivery across the organization and positioned the County to better meet future demands. The award reflects the growing impact of these upgrades and the County’s commitment to smarter, more responsive technology with the goal to better equip staff to provide quality services to residents.
